The Canada West Foundation has been an ardent and consistent advocate for an amplified western Canadian voice in national affairs. However, amplification makes sense only if the content is there; a louder whine is still a whine. What, then, is the western Canadian vision? What is our particular contribution to Canadian public life? Dr. Roger Gibbins addresses this question by arguing that the integrating theme is an emphasis on individual equality, a theme that emerged from our frontier past and provides a guiding star for our future contributions to the Canadian dream.
