Nancy Hopkins practises business law, with an emphasis on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, taxation law, and IT law.

She is a member of the board of directors Growthworks Commercialization Fund Inc. and the board of directors of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. Nancy has previously served on numerous other boards, including the board of Cameco Corporation for 24 years, and as a director on the Board of Governors of the University of Saskatchewan from 2005-2013, including Chair of the Board 2010-2013.

Nancy has led McDougall Gauley teams on numerous mergers and acquisitions, acting for vendors, purchasers or the corporation being acquired.

Nancy was involved for many years with the chartered accounting profession, including serving as public director of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (now CPA Canada) from 1998 to 2004.

In December 2014, Nancy was a recipient of the Women’s Executive Network’s 2013 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards in the Corporate Directors category. These awards celebrate and highlight the professional achievements of women across the country in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Award winners were selected based on their strategic vision and leadership, commitment to their communities and the financial performance of their organizations.
