CALGARY, AB Oct. 21, 2014 – The Canada West Foundation has added five distinguished western leaders to its Board of Directors, the foundation announced today.

The board approved the following individuals to three-year terms:

• Larry Blain, a Vancouver-based consultant and corporate director

• Dick Carter, recently retired President and CEO of the Crown Investments Corporation (CIC) of Saskatchewan

• Brad Ferguson, President & CEO of Edmonton Economic Development

• Ed Kennedy, President and CEO of the North West Company, in Winnipeg

• Robin Silvester, President and CEO of Port Metro Vancouver

Board Chair Geoff Plant noted each of the four western provinces is represented in these appointments. “It underscores our mandate as a pan-western organization,” he said.

“I am thrilled,” said Dylan Jones, President & CEO of the Foundation. “These are people who have already demonstrated their ability to build a most prosperous western Canada.”

Four retiring members of the board were appointed Directors Emeritus: Brenda Eaton, Jim Eldridge, Jock Finlayson and Gail Surkan.
