Canada-Asia Cooperation Energy Conference and Community Dinner

On September 8, 2011, the Canada West Foundation and the Asia Pacific Foundation hosted the Canada-Asia Energy Cooperation Conference, held in conjunction with the 7th Annual Canada-China Energy & Environment Forum. This event looked at the growing web of energy-related trade, investment, strategic and environmental linkages between Canada and Asia., and featured Canadian and Asian experts and practitioners from a variety of sectors.
The day opened with the Honourable Rob Renner, Minister of Environment & Deputy Government Leader,
Government of Alberta providing opening remakrs. The Luncheon Keynote for this event was Alberta Minister of Energy, the Honourable Ron Liepert, who discussed the energy cooperation between Canada and Asia.

That evening, the Canada West Foundation shared our strategic vision for the future of western Canada, and Asia's place within that vision. Victor Gao, China Co-Chairman, Daiwa Capital Markets, was featured as the keynote speaker and explored the growing and complex relationship between Canada and Asia.
