A dedicated and passionate community builder, Angus has founded, led or co-led dozens of major community initiatives. He serves as chair of Health Quality Alberta and was previously co-chair, Cross Cancer Institute Campaign (CCI). In addition, Angus held the role of honorary consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and honorary colonel for the South Alberta Light Horse Regiment.  

Angus is a recipient of both the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012) and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (2022). In 2023, he was inducted as a member into the Alberta Order of Excellence and as a laureate into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. In 2024, Angus received an honorary doctorate from MacEwan University. He is also a past recipient of the Rotary Club of Canada’s Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
