Charles brings more than 25 years of leadership in policy and economic analysis to the Foundation. He has held senior roles across the private sector, government, industry associations and think tanks, including Shell Canada, Husky Energy, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, the government of Alberta and the C.D. Howe Institute.

He has a deep understanding of the economic forces shaping Western Canada and a proven record of driving research that informs public policy and supports strategic decision-making. He has led complex initiatives on topics ranging from energy market structures and emissions regulation to trade infrastructure and investment strategy.

He holds a master’s degree in economics, is a CFA charterholder and completed a professional certificate in risk management and strategic decision-making through Stanford University.
