Chris Dambrowitz

Chris is founder and CEO of Actuo Consulting, a boutique strategic advisory & technical services firm serving Western Canadian industrial, institutional and nonprofit organizations.

Prior to his work with clients across Western Canada’s technology, energy-transition, construction and natural-resources sectors, Chris served as AVP – Research & Innovation with the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), where he was instrumental in the development of NAIT’s Industry Solutions initiative – supporting industry clients through applied research facilities, advanced manufacturing labs, acceleration spaces, and corporate workforce training services.

Previously Chris was Director of Strategic Initiatives with the Biorefining Conversion Network (BCN), an collaborative research network focused on novel bioproducts and bioprocesses within Alberta’s resources-based industrial sectors.  He was the founding Program Director of the Alberta Prion Research Institute and later served as Director of Planning and Development with the Alberta Research & Innovation Authority (ARIA) Secretariat. Chris also brings technology development experience from his time in the bioanalytical and biotechnology industries with MDS Sciex, Blue Heron Biotechnology, Visible Genetics and AECL.  Chris has a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Alberta.
