Patrick joined the Canada West Foundation as a policy analyst in January 2020. As an analyst, Patrick supports the delivery of research and analysis across the policy centers. Previously, he worked as a member of IHS Markit’s Energy Insight team and has authored and co-authored reports on a variety of issues influencing North America’s energy sector. He’s also worked as a research assistant at the School for Public Policy focused on marginal effective tax rates for small and medium size businesses in Canada and abroad.
Prior to joining the Foundation, he graduated from the Master of Public Policy program at the University of Calgary. As part of his studies, his capstone dissertation concentrated on the case for cooperative approaches contemplated in the Paris Climate Accord. Patrick also holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Majoring in Finance from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
