Join us at the Canada West Foundation offices as Morgan Larhant, the Head of the French Regional Economic Service for Canada, drops by for an informal conversation about topics ranging from the free trade agreement with the EU to energy and climate transition in Europe as well as the economic fallout from the war in Ukraine.

Speaker
Morgan Larhant, Head, French Regional Economic Service for Canada
From 2017 until 2021, Mr. Larhant served in the French Ministry for Finance as Deputy Director of the Budget, overseeing the budget of various ministerial departments (Agriculture, Immigration, Europe) and government agencies. In this capacity, he sat on the boards of certain government-owned entities, such as the French Development Agency (AFD), the French National Forest Office (ONF), the Agency for Services and Payment (ASP) and the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE). Prior to this, he was a member of the staff of the French Minister for European Affairs and held various positions in the French Diplomatic network (French Representation to the UN in New York City and French Representation to the EU in Brussels).
Mr. Larhant is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) de Strasbourg et de Paris and the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA). He holds a Master’s degree from the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna. He has published extensively on European and international affairs, including his book “Les finances de l’ONU, la crise permanente”. He received the French National Order of Merit, with the rank of Knight, in 2020.
