The Canada-U.S. relationship has always been complex and occasionally difficult. Post November 5th it is poised to become more of each. Is this concern normal, pre-election hype from media over-saturated with U.S. content or is this time different and if so, how and what is at stake for Western Canada? Beyond a change in administration, how will changes in the Congress and Senate impact issues of importance to Western Canada?
The Canada West Foundation, in co-operation with the Calgary Consular Corps, is excited to host one of the most insightful and influential non-Canadian voices in Washington, D.C. on Canadian issues, Christopher Sands, Director of the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Canada Institute, as he discusses possible post-election scenarios and asks what will it mean for Canada – and how do we prepare?
This wide-ranging arm-chair conversation with CWF CEO Gary Mar will touch on:
- The 2024 U.S. Elections: What happens next in the US and then in Canada
- Great Power Conflicts: Risks and opportunities for Canada
- Globalization Retreats to Regionalism: How Competitive is North America
