Born and raised in Vancouver, Lyall D. Knott comes from a large pioneer family with Scottish and First Nations roots. With law degrees from UBC and the University of London, Lyall was called to the Bar in 1974. In 1984 he joined Vancouver-based law firm, Clark Wilson LLP, where he continues to put his extensive network and experience to work for clients and his community. Today, Lyall has a well-earned reputation as one of British Columbia’s most respected and connected community leaders.

A King’s Counsel, Lyall is also a recipient of the Queen’s Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals for community service. Like his Board colleagues on the Canada West Foundation, Lyall recognizes that his profession and practice provide unique public service opportunities that allow him to put the strength of his business and personal connections to work for his province and country.

Lyall works on behalf of such prominent organizations as the University of British Columbia, Vancouver Airport Authority, Rick Hansen Foundation, Canadian Armed Forces, Simon Fraser University, Expo 86, Royal Roads University, Vancouver Port Corporation, and the International Joint Commission. He also serves as the Honorary Consul General for Tunisia.
