Jeff Griffiths

Jeff Griffiths is a leading Canadian practitioner in the field of competency-based management practices and a multi-award-winning certified management consultant with over 20 years of experience in the field. He has developed comprehensive national occupational analyses and standards for multiple Canadian HR Sector Councils, was part of the Canada West team that worked on a variety of impactful research and policy reports, and led the team that completed a major overhaul to the competency framework for the Certified Management Consultant profession in Canada. He has also developed certification and accreditation programs for the Canadian home inspection industry, the Canadian building code administration and enforcement profession, and the Canadian oil and gas sector’s “Petroleum Competency Program”.

Jeff began his career as an officer in the Canadian military, where his passion for the value of competencies was first established. After leaving the military, he began a career in industry and consulting, earning his Certified Management Consultant (CMC), designation in 2001; he was named a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Alberta (FCMC) in 2014 in recognition of his service to the profession as Registrar of ICMCA and his work on improving certification processes.

In addition to his policy research work, Jeff is a co-founder at WorkForce Strategies International (WFSI), a member of the Workforce Forum for the North American Strategy for Competitiveness (NASCO), a graduate of the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) Academy, and member of the TPM National Learning Network, and serves on the board of directors of the Calgary-based LearningCity Collective.
