Lin Al-Akkad graduated with a Master of Public Policy in 2022 at the University of Calgary, where her capstone project analyzed inter-occupational mobility between Alberta’s natural resources and manufacturing sectors. She had previously worked with CD Howe Institute on a project examining some of the skills required to achieve a smooth transition for workers in a low carbon economy. She also worked at the Alberta Ministry of Advanced Education on commercializing research results for Alberta’s post secondary institutions and industry. She joined Canada West Foundation as a policy analyst in the Human Capital team. She is passionate about human capital, labour economics and economic development policies.
