Each year, four provincial economic profile and forecast reports are produced by the Canada West Foundation, one for each province in the west. In the latest report, Chief Economist Todd Hirsch discusses the aspects which have strengthened Saskatchewan’s economy in the past year and its forecast for the future. While job opportunities, rising wages, improved taxes and a relatively low cost of living will help stabilize Saskatchewan’s economy, there are some challenges that will need to be faced to secure its position as one of western Canada’s economic powerhouses.
