Long project approval processes have been under fire for putting the brakes on Canadian competitiveness and economic growth. Dropped into this charged atmosphere are the federal government’s highly anticipated amendments to the Impact Assessment Act. These were recently released in draft form and are now making their way through Parliament.

Join the Canada West Foundation as we put the IAA amendments in the hot seat to see whether they’ll be enough to transform Canada’s approval processes.

Our panel of experts will discuss:

  • What’s changed
  • What the implications are for potential proponents, provinces, projects and Indigenous groups
  • Whether these amendments will be enough to transform Canada’s project approval process
